“Productivity Isn’t About Doing More. It’s About Doing What Matters Most.”
And that’s where most entrepreneurs go wrong.
In business and in life, most people mistake movement for progress. They’re busy, but not effective. Productive, but not purposeful. Over the decades, working with high-level entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and top-performing founders, I’ve seen a pattern:
When leaders finally align their focus with their values, everything changes.
Revenue grows. Time expands. And life stops feeling like a never-ending treadmill.
Brian Tracy, one of the great minds on peak performance, said: “Your ability to discipline yourself to set clear goals and then to work toward them every day will do more for your success than any other single factor.”
Let me show you how to take that wisdom and apply it to your real-world leadership, and give you a story of one client who used these principles to transform his company and his life.

The Productivity Shift: From Overwhelm to Ownership
Here are a few tactical strategies drawn from my coaching framework and some timeless principles to improve your productivity immediately:
1. Apply the 80/20 Rule Ruthlessly
80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. Take inventory of your calendar and eliminate or delegate anything that doesn’t directly move the needle.
I had one client cut down his weekly meetings by 60% and instantly reclaimed 8 hours a week, a full workday.
A great way to do this is to hire a VA to do all of your social media engagement, because the idea of social media is NOT to do social media. It’s to generate traffic and activity to support your business.
2. Eat That Frog
This famous phrase reminds us to tackle the hardest, highest-value task first thingeach day. Before email. Before Slack. Before distractions hijack your focus.
Do the hard thing first. It builds momentum and confidence.
The best way to do this is to make your list the night before so you know what to do in the morning.
3. Use the 3-Priority Rule
Each day, write down the three most important things that must get done. Only three. When you complete them, the day is a win, no matter what else happens.
THEN… you can do a 4th thing. OR, you can go exercise or do something rewarding. Up to you.
This produces endorphins and creates confidence.
4. Schedule Thinking Time
As a stoic and strategist, I can tell you this is your secret weapon. Carve out 30 minutes a day to unplug, reflect, and strategize. You’ll make smarter decisions, reduce reactivity, and lead with vision instead of chaos.
All the answers we seek are in the stillness and silence… especially in nature.
5. Protect Your Energy Like a Billionaire
Top entrepreneurs don’t burn out. They protecttheir energy. That means sleep, movement, nutrition, and emotional boundaries, yes, even in your calendar.
You don’t serve your business by sacrificing yourself.
Health always comes first.
Life is just a big game. Stay healthy and you can keep playing the game (at a high level).

Client Success: How One President Transformed His Company and His Life
One of my recent clients “Marc,” the President of a $120M manufacturing firm, came to me exhausted. He was running 60+ hours a week, missing family dinners, constantly reactive, and facing a plateau in revenue growth.
We started simple. We decluttered his schedule using the 80/20 rule. We installed daily “frog time” for strategic action. We clarified his top 3 priorities each week and aligned his leadership team to do the same.
And perhaps most importantly, we got his mornings dialed in so he could lead proactively instead of reactively.
Remember, checking our phones, emails, or every notification that beeps or buzzes gives us false dopamine hits that we keep chasing.
At the end of the day we’re exhausted and didn’t get where we wanted to go.
Marc learned to keep the notifications OFF and amazingly, the world didn’t end.
Six months later?
- Revenue grew by 18%
- He cut his working hours by 35%
- He took his first real vacation in 7 years
- And he told me, “I finally feel like the CEO of my life, not just my company.”
That’s the power of aligned productivity.
Focus and accountability are game changers.
