Mindfulness In Business

Some of you who follow me know I’ve been sober since April 8 2003… 20 years now. It has been a long road to success and inner peace.

We have a saying in the world of recovery… “You only have to change one thing… EVERYTHING.”

The first thing I learned is that the drugs, alcohol, food, porn, and mindless scrolling aren’t the REAL problems…

They are what we use to cope with the real problem… which is mostly our lack of focus and misguided thinking… or OVERTHINKING.

The ones who make it to the top aren’t necessarily smarter or “better” than us.

They have just learned how to manage their thinking in healthy ways

If we don’t learn mindfulness, or how to manage our thinking, we are eventually going to struggle.

We might make some money and have some success, but we’ll struggle in other ways.

Some of the struggles we face in business when we are not living mindfully:

  • Low employee morale & engagement
  • Damaged professional relationships
  • Reduced innovation & creativity
  • Personal relationship problems
  • Erosion of company culture
  • Increased stress & burnout
  • Impaired decision making
  • Customer dissatisfaction
  • Poor problem solving
  • Resistance to change
  • Missed opportunities

The best way, in my opinion and experience, is through meditation and mindfulness.

If you’ve never done any meditation before, I have a FREE series of videos you might like on meditation and mindfulness HERE: https://dennisberry.com/life-mastery-school/

The idea of meditation is not to control our mind. It is to not let our mind control us.

I practice meditation and mindful living every single day of my life.

It makes all the difference in the world.

Without it, I would not have been able to achieve the levels of success that I have.

The positive effects of mindfulness in business are innumerable, but here are 4 of them:

– Enhanced Decision-Making:

Mindful thinking in entrepreneurship involves making decisions with a clear and focused mind. This heightened awareness enables entrepreneurs to evaluate options, anticipate consequences, and make well-informed decisions, contributing to the overall success of their ventures.

– Effective Problem-Solving:

Mindful thinking promotes a calm and centered approach to problem-solving. Entrepreneurs who practice mindfulness can analyze challenges objectively, explore innovative solutions, and implement effective strategies to address issues that may arise in their business journey.

– Stress Reduction:

Entrepreneurship is inherently stressful, but mindful thinking helps manage stress levels. By staying present and focused, entrepreneurs can reduce the impact of stress, preventing burnout and maintaining a healthier work-life balance.

– Enhanced Emotional Intelligence:

Mindful entrepreneurs develop heightened emotional intelligence. This allows them to navigate interpersonal dynamics, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and lead their teams with empathy and understanding, creating a positive work environment.

And, one of the best ways to live mindfully and focused, IMHO, is to have a clear plan and focus in our business so we don’t have to stress and struggle.
