What (And How) To Post On Linkedin

Let’s talk about something a lot of entrepreneurs are getting wrong on LinkedIn.

Too many people are treating LinkedIn like a place to post random thoughts, hoping something sticks. But if you’re serious about building a business, that approach won’t get you far.

You’re not here to waste time! You’re here to generate traffic, grow your audience, and move people closer to your offers. That requires strategy.

We’re living in a time when nearly six billion people are active on social media every month. Out of those, only a small fraction are creators.

And if we’re being honest, an even smaller group are what I’d call real creators… people who consistently produce content that leads to action.

The difference between noise and results comes down to strategy.

LinkedIn success isn’t about luck. It’s about understanding what kind of content you need to be posting, why you’re posting it, and how it fits into the bigger picture of your business.

If you’re posting without a strategy, you’re essentially shouting into a void.

There’s no engagement. No leads. No growth…. And NO Business.

So what does a strong LinkedIn content strategy actually look like?

Posting content aligned with your goals is the best way to achieve your goals.

First, it starts with understanding your content funnel. At the top of the funnel, you need content that attracts. These posts are broad, curiosity-driven, and designed to pull in new people.

In the middle of the funnel, your goal is to build trust. This is where you position yourself as a thought leader—someone worth following and listening to.

And at the bottom of the funnel, it’s about conversion. This is where credibility, proof, and clear calls to action come into play. This is where you ask for the sale.

Second, you should always be working with content that’s already proven to perform. If your audience has responded well to something in the past, that’s a signal. Pay attention to what’s working and double down on it. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you post.

You also want to make sure your ideas align with your goals. Before you hit publish, ask yourself a few key questions:

Can I add visuals to increase engagement? Does this fit into one of my core content pillars? Am I sharing from a place of real experience and authority? Can I make this idea even stronger? * And most importantly, am I providing value that goes above and beyond?

This is where having a solid content bank comes into play. You should have a growing collection of ideas, drafts, proven concepts, and go-to posts that you can pull from when your creativity runs low. The best content creators aren’t always inspired—they’re prepared.

Posting content aligned with your goals is the best way to achieve your goals.

Finally, pay attention to format. Some styles of content are just performing better on LinkedIn right now. Carousels are getting strong engagement and shares. Bold, visual-first “billboard” style posts are stopping the scroll. Infographics are delivering quick, digestible value that positions you as a go-to expert in your niche.

The bottom line is this: every post you put out there should be doing some heavy lifting for your business. If you’re not posting with intention, you’re wasting opportunities.

So, next time you sit down to write a LinkedIn post, ask yourself—am I planning this, or just winging it?

Make it count.
